Satellite monitoring system

In the field of vessel monitoring system (VMS) IREPA ONLUS has developed an innovative fishing effort evaluation methodology, based on dynamic acquisition of technical parameters like vessel position and speed, besides engine telemetric data.
All the information, acquired and sent to data collecting center, are used by the monitoring software, that identifies vessel activity conditions and provides to print, on nautical charts, the route of the trips.
The methodology can be improved, increasing the number of collected data, introducing also qualitative and quantitative data related to catches, permitting to establish relationships between fishing effort and production.
This will lead to analytical tools development, based on data georeferentiation, usable in bio economic modelling
