Research
The Institute is involved in a wide range of research
and surveys conducted within programmes promoted by
EU and by several branches of the National Administration.
Most of these programmes, developed by the Institute
in co-operation with Italian and European partners,
include both theoretical and applicative issues. In
this context, the Institute has always devoted itself
to the implementation of researches directed at supporting
those administrations involved in the planning and management
of fishing activities and the preservation of biological
resources.
Traditionally, the implementation of bio-economic models
and the application of quantitative methods for the
evaluation of public strategies of intervention have
represented the main research area of the Institute.
