Enviromental Management Certification
Since its establishment, IREPA ONLUS has been developing
research projects concerning the fishery sector with
a view to preventing the ichthyic resources from being
overexploited. To this purpose, the Institute developed
a unit for the research and environmental certification,
which works in partnership with other environmental
operators. The personnel working with Irepa have multidisciplinary
qualifications. The internal staff dealing with economic,
biological, environmental, engineering, IT and cartographic
sectors work in close connection with qualified environmental
auditors. Thus, the Institute is able to implement an
Environmental Management System (EMS) certified according
to ISO standards and/or registered in conformity with
EMAS regulation. By sharing the same values, innovative
methodologies and efficient organisational structures,
the EMS provides visibility towards both internal and
external interlocutors. At the same time, it supplies
clear, direct and documented answers to the following:
- Consumers who buy goods that are manufactured respecting
the environment and who prefer companies involved in
the preservation of the ecosystem;
- Suppliers, oriented to qualified and standardised
relationships, who consider certification and registration
as an essential prerequisite to create a productive
food chain.
- Public Administration, which, in legislating on environmental
issues, represents a limit for those companies with
a poorly organised control of their activities. |
